I have always been self conscious about the size of my inference. It seemed so, what can I say, so insignificant. Then I tried the new Bayes factor package, and, boy, what a difference. My inferential logic grew by leaps and bounds. I am a true believer.
ReplyDeleteThe BayesFactor package and it's online material really lowers the bar for entering Bayesian analysis. I've just become a ph.d. using only bayesian inference (no p-values). I used the BayesFactor package to report g-based priors and in turn used this to get an idea of whether my BUGS-derived Bayes factors (using the product space method) were sensible.
ReplyDeleteIt's also worth noting that the BayesFactor package is the backbone for JASP which I plan to teach instead of SPSS to our graduate and undergraduate students.
